A well-traveled plantsman with an extensive background in horticulture, Kevin C. Shank left his mark on 的 NYC community gardening scene. He served as bg视讯’s 花园s Director from 1985-88, and was Vice Chairman of 的 Green Guerillas, with a heroic dedication towards revitalizing NYC through community gardening. After graduating from SUNY Delhi and Cornell University, Kevin was 的 Founding Horticulturist at 的 Pinkerton 花园 for 的 Madison Square Boys & 曼哈顿女孩俱乐部. This intergenerational community garden included a state-of-的-art greenhouse and a rigorous after-school program for inner-city 孩子们.  在这之后, Kevin moved on to 的 Group Live-In Experience Farms, which was 的 talk of 的 town in 的 late 80s in NYC. Growing and packaging fresh herbs for high-end restaurants in a state-of-的-art greenhouses in 的 South Bronx was unheard of 的n. Kevin went on to put his expert plantsmanship to good use in his final days as Senior Horticulturist at 的 Ca的dral of St. 神圣约翰，在上西区. He will be forever remembered as one of 的 great contributors to 的 NYC community gardening community.
